Russian Hockey

Russian hockey has a proud legacy of success. Between 1954 and 1991, powerful Soviet teams (the Big Red Machine) dominated world championships and international competition. Today some of the NHL's most elite players are Russian, while Russia's Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) is ranked as the strongest hockey league in Europe.
