Sergei Fedorov
Sergei Fedorov is a professional hockey player most
recognized for his 13 seasons as a member of the
Detroit Red Wings. While the Russian
star spent the majority of his time as a
forward, Red Wing's coach Scotty Bowman also
occasionally used him on the blue line (in a pairing
with Larry Murphy). During his prestigious NHL
career Federov helped Detroit win 3 Stanley Cups,
won the Frank J. Selke Trophy twice (for best defensive forward),
and was the league's MVP in the 1993-94 season
capturing both the Hart Memorial Trophy and the
Lester B. Pearson Award. In terms of
achievements for Russian born players, Fedorov
became the first Russian to tally 1000 NHL points,
currently holds the record for most NHL goals by a
Russian (483), and was the winner of the the inaugural
Kharlamov Trophy for most valuable Russian NHL player.
