The XXII Winter Olympic Games will be celebrated in Sochi, Russia from February 7 to February 23, 2014.

Sochi 2014 will be Russia's first time hosting the Winter Olympic Games. (The Soviet Union was host to the 1980 Summer Games in Moscow).

Budgeted spending to prepare for the Sochi Winter Olympics stands at over $12 billion US (see currency converter). This includes spending on tourist, transport and power supply infrastructure, plus the item which gets the most international interest, Olympic venues.
